Quadriga acquires SmoovieTV

Quadriga has announced the acquisition of SmoovieTV, the specialists in the provision of a patented TV paywall solution to the hospitality and healthcare markets. The SmoovieTV acquisition is the first step in Quadriga’s new growth strategy and will enable the business to reach the wider hospitality market and increase its range of TV based communication and entertainment solutions.

TV paywall enables properties to offer access to pre-pay TV channels, which works well for hotels that focus on the lower cost stay option for guests, as well as for those who do not wish to invest in an integrated guest communication and entertainment platform. This also allows guests to pay for what they want – a model which has been adopted successfully by the airline industry.

SmoovieTV is an already proven and established business with a base of 27,000 guest rooms across hotels in Europe, supported by a network of distributors. Quadriga has incorporated the product into its own portfolio and continues to support this successful distributor model.

Roger Taylor, CEO Quadriga commented: “Through this acquisition Quadriga is now able to target all hotels with its broader product portfolio, with Sensiq and now SmoovieTV. SmoovieTV provides hospitality and healthcare properties with the choice to either use guest TVs as a source of revenue by renting TV access, enhancing the guest experience by offering a wider choice of television channels or providing access to specific types of TV channel which use capabilities such as HD. I believe this opens up exciting new opportunities for the hospitality and healthcare sectors and for Quadriga as we open up to new markets. With over 30 years experience, Quadriga has become a trusted partner to the hospitality sector and can now deliver a hassle-free, low risk, no maintenance solution to allow guests to pay-as-they-go.”

With a growing portfolio of products and content, Quadriga works with the hospitality industry, from luxury to budget properties, to evolve and grow guest communication and entertainment solutions. Quadriga delivers solutions that evolve with the rapidly changing technology environment which drives guest requirements and business demands for new revenue opportunities and operational efficiencies.
