Having briefly left the Marriott International family of brands in 2020, Roberto now returns to the company, bringing his extensive knowledge and expertise to Phuket Marriott Resort and Spa, Nai Yang Beach.
Phuket, Thailand – Phuket Marriott Resort and Spa, Nai Yang Beach has announced the appointment of Mr. Roberto Troia as its new Director of Rooms.
An Italian national with almost 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Roberto’s career has enjoyed a steep upward trajectory. Having started his career as a Guest Service Agent at the Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Bolzano, northern Italy, he went on to work at the famous Hotel Danieli, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Venice, which has hosted many celebrities and featured in several Hollywood movies.
Having spread his wings to Australia in 2016, Roberto initially worked at the Sheraton Melbourne Hotel before being appointed as Front Office Supervisor at Four Points by Sheraton Docklands in Melbourne. Within a year, he was promoted to the role of Hotel Duty Manager and went on the become Rooms Division Manager at the same hotel.

Born and raised on the Mediterranean island of Sicily, Roberto has a passion for travel and hospitality. During a trip to Thailand in 2017, when he traveled over 1,600km from Phuket to Chiang Rai, he fell in love with the country’s culture – and especially with Thai cuisine. When he is not working, Roberto likes to read and take part in sports such as football, running and swimming.
