NokScoot triumphs on punctuality at Narita

NokScoot, nicknamed Big Bird, started a daily flight from Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport to Narita on June 1 with Boeing 777-200 wide-body jet, configured with 415 seats.

Bangkok – NokScoot has joined the global league of most punctual airlines for its Bangkok-Narita services. The Thailand-based airline achieved on-time performance (OTP) of 94.68% for its flights which arrived and departed from Narita International Airport in its first three-months of operating on the route. The record, regarded as “excellence” by aviation industry, made NokScoot one of the carriers serving Narita, the international gateway to Japan, to achieve high OTP.

The robust OTP record we achieved so far at Narita is a testimony of our endeavour to make our flights on time with no sacrifice of safety and convenience of passengers,” said NokScoot CEO Yodchai Sudhidhanakul.

The industry defines OTP as flights that arrive or depart under 15 minutes of their scheduled arrival/departure times. NokScoot’s system-wise OTP in the first eight months of this year showed an average of 79.89%, relatively high on industry standard, for a total of 2,521 flights staged.

To celebrate the high OTP achieved at Narita, NokScoot will be offering an upgrade for the first ten passengers who check in for both legs of the Bangkok-Narita flight at Don Mueang and Narita airports. The offer, running on October 5-15, gives passengers holding normal economy class tickets a privilege to move to the “Stretch Seats” which provide more leg rooms free of charge, subject to availability.

NokScoot, a joint venture between Thailand’s Nok Air and Scoot of Singapore, is set to launch its second Japan route, the four-weekly flights from Don Mueang to Kansai International Airport of Osaka on October 28.
