The Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) introduced a new marketing campaign in an effort to attract more meetings and conferences. “Thailand: The Ultimate Choice for All” target the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) industry and continue until year-end. The campaign launched at the IMEX 2012 trade show, being held from May 22-24 in Frankfurt. The TCEB hopes the campaign will help boost visitor numbers and revenue from the European market by at least 10% this year to 95,500 visitors which would generate THB 6.5 billion (US$ 210 million).

According to Vichaya Soonthornsaratoon, acting director of the TCEB’s Meetings and Incentives Department, the new marketing plan will focus on five key market segments: Businessmen on the Go, Women in Travel, Young & Adventurous, Art and Culture Lovers and Happy Families. TCEB wants to focus on Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Kanchanaburi, Hat Yai, Koh Samui and Hua Hin. TCEB indicates to have a target in 2012 of at least 750,000 MICE visitors generating revenue of more than THB 60.12 billion (US$ 2.1 billion).
