Leading low fare airline premiers new look aircraft

New look livery marks landmark year for Jet2.com

Jet2.com, the UK’s leading friendly low fare airline, is set to take to the skies from its seven UK bases this summer with a brand new look for its fleet.

Helping to improve passenger comfort and reduce fuel consumption, Jet2.com’s upgraded fleet will now feature innovative ergonomically designed seating. Specially commissioned to make the in-seat experience more comfortable and accommodating, whilst saving weight, the new seats mean that less fuel is needed, helping the airline to keep its fares as low as possible.

Increasing passenger comfort and style further, the new seating is made from a unique and revolutionary leather material known as e-Leather and will feature in Jet2.com’s trademark red and silver colours.

The new look fleet also features an updated interior colour scheme, bringing the silver, red and white of the outside of the aircraft into the interior design. To achieve the finished look, Jet2.com worked closely with a number of UK and European specialists including skilled UK and German paint manufacturers, plastics and laminate specialists in Ohio, aeronautical paint application teams across the UK and even Axminster carpets in Devon who created a bespoke carpet for the refurbishment programme.

Adding a bit of fun to the journey, the friendly low fare airline has also installed quirky wall art in its toilets to make people smile whilst spending a penny. The murals, which have been rolled out over its fleet for the past six months, feature a cheeky camel, ladies splashing in the sea, children running across the beach and a man jumping into the sea to name but a few.

Ian Doubtfire, managing director of Jet2.com, said: “We have spent over 18 months perfecting the details of this upgrade and sourcing the right materials for to overhaul our fleet. After all of this hard work the results really are impressive and we are confident that our customers will give the new look a resounding thumbs up.

“The new look fleet now features a consistent look inside and out, and reflects our brand ethos of consistent high standards, putting our customers first, great value and a little bit of fun!

“The seating is a great in-road for us and will make a huge difference both to customer experience and fuel consumption – meaning that we can save our customers money and reduce environmental impact at the same time. Whilst the toilet murals are fun and quirky and will certainly brighten everyone’s day.”
