MEET TAIWAN “Asia Super Team” campaign returns after successful launch in 2014

After a successful campaign last year, the 2015 “Asia Super Team: Team Up for Good” competition will be held across six countries – Australia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand.

SINGAPORE – MEET TAIWAN, developed by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), launched the second edition of the business competition “Asia Super Team: Team Up for Good” to promote Taiwan as a top-of-mind destination for incentive travel.

After a successful campaign last year, the 2015 “Asia Super Team: Team Up for Good” competition will be held across six countries – Australia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand. In 2014, Singapore food manufacturer, Seng Hua Hng Foodstuff, beat four other finalist teams to emerge the winner.

In addition to sponsoring an incentive travel package to Taiwan worth over USD 50,000, MEET TAIWAN will also make a cash donation of USD 5,000 to a non-profit organization of the winning team’s choice. The competition consists of two phases. In the first phase, participating teams are required to submit an online proposal. The second phase of the competition will be held in Taiwan, where one elite team selected from each country will be invited to a tour in Taiwan to experience the beauty of Taiwan’s incentive resource. One final winning team will walk away with an attractive incentive travel package worth more than USD 50,000.

Registration for the “Asia Super Team: Team Up for Good” competition opened on June 8 at https://asiasuperteam.meettaiwan.com/ and closes on August 30th, 23:59. Members of the public are invited to vote for the best proposal from August 3rd, 12:00 through August 30th, 23:59.

“Asia Super Team” expands to Australia and Thailand
This year, businesses from Australia and Thailand will join representatives from Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand to take part in the “Asia Super Team” contest. These six countries have the highest number of inbound tourists to Taiwan.

Deeper significance for participants
In both phases of the competition, participants are required to demonstrate their ability to develop ideas that meet both business and corporate social responsibility (CSR) objectives. Participating companies must come up with unique incentive travel plans that will boost employee morale, stimulate creativity and social responsibility.

Additional incentives for winning team and voters
In addition to walking away with an incentive travel package to Taiwan, MEET TAIWAN will also make a USD 5,000 cash donation to a non-profit organization of the winning team’s choice. Participants who vote via social media will be eligible to join a lucky draw for a chance to win round-trip air tickets to Taiwan. The complimentary air tickets are sponsored by China Airlines.

“Asia Super Team: Team Up for Good” Competition Phases

Phase 1: Online competition
Participants are required to develop and submit an itinerary proposal that showcases their passion and understanding of the MICE sector in Taiwan. Participating teams are required to share their proposal on their social media platforms to solicit votes from the public. One winning team from each country will be selected to compete in Phase 2 of the competition.

Phase 2: Final tour in Taiwan
The winning team from each country will go on a five-day-four-night tour in Taiwan from October 12th – 16th, 2015, to compete for the grand prize. All six teams will gain a better understanding of the MICE industry in Taiwan and also experience the revival of local culture and environment as well as giving back to the underprivileged. All expenses in Phase 2 will be covered by MEET TAIWAN.
