Langham Hotels International (LHI) has won the prestigious 2006 PATA Gold Award, organised by the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), in the Travel Advertisement – Electronic Media category for the group`s first TV commercial titled The Butler, first released in November 2005.

The award-winning TV commercial depicts Langham`s legendary history and its dedication to service and hospitality for over 140 years. Developed by Ogilvy & Mather Advertising HongKong, it portrays the journey of the Langham Butler as he attends to the needs of our distinguished guests from the modern day all the way back to 1865, when The Langham London was opened by the HRH Prince of Wales. The Butler successfully conveys the core message, The Legend Lives, since 1865.

We are thrilled about receiving this notable accolade. For 140 years, Langham has been at the forefront of sophisticated and gracious hospitality. This award recognises our success in communicating Langham`s unique heritage and pedigree to our target audience, said Brett Butcher, Senior Vice President – Sales & Marketing of Langham Hotels International. This motivates us to ensure we keep our marketing at the highest level possible and stay true to the brand he added.

The PATA Gold Awards recognise exceptional achievement in a variety of endeavours, bringing acclaim to the best the region`s travel industry has to offer. This year, for the first time, LHI was competing also with non-PATA members to win this honour. The award will be presented on 24 April, 2006 at the 55th PATA Annual Conference in Pattaya.
