SkyTeam alliance partners Korean Air and AeroMexico announced the beginning of a codeshare relationship to improve the international network for passengers flying on both carriers.

Korean Air and AeroMexico are two of the nine carriers who make up the SkyTeam alliance, which also includes Air France, Alitalia, Continental, CSA Czech, Delta, KLM and Northwest.

Korean Air passengers can connect from its Los Angeles destination on AeroMexico flights to Mexico City and Guadalajara. AeroMexico passengers will be able to travel on Korean Air between Los Angeles and Seoul, Korea.

The free sale codeshare arrangement between Korean Air and AeroMexico allows both airlines to sell space on each other’s flights and thereby increase travel options for passengers enhancing travel convenience. Travelers will also benefit from single check-in for codeshare flights. Additional codeshare routes between the two airlines are expected to be announced in upcoming months.

Korean Air and AeroMexico already have frequent flyer reciprocity under the SkyTeam alliance. SkyTeam alliance travelers can earn mileage in their frequent flyer account regardless of which partner airline they fly.

Korean Air currently has codeshare relationships with 21 international carriers and plans to increase traveler options through increased partnerships with SkyTeam alliance airlines and other international carriers.
