Inbound tour operator Diethelm Travel Asia announced internal promotions. John Watson, CEO, said “Having delivered numerous years of sustainable profit growth, Diethelm Travel is ready to enter a new phase in its’ almost 50 years of continuous operations in Asia. From our origins in Thailand in the 1950’s, to our highly successful launch of Diethelm Travel Bhutan last year, our business model is robust and we are poised to enter new markets in line with our customers’ wishes and expectations.”
“Our global trade customers, from over 90 countries, require us to grow our footprint in Asia and the following promotions will enable us to rise to this challenge. Effective 27th March 2006, the following promotions come into effect.”
“Richard Brouwer, currently VP Sales & Marketing/Managing Director Thailand, becomes Chief Operating Officer of Diethelm Travel Asia, reporting to me. Each country Managing Director will then report to Richard. Bert Lambrichs, currently Director of Sales, becomes VP Sales & Marketing, reporting to Richard,” said Mr.Watson.
“Maarten Groeneveld, currently Managing Director Myanmar, becomes Managing Director Thailand. Beatrice Baconnais, currently Deputy Managing Director Cambodia, becomes Managing Director Myanmar.”
“We will be in a position to announce the pace of our growth over the coming months. Negotiations are at an advanced stage in a number of countries. These promotions will make certain the quality of service delivery in our core existing markets remains high while ensuring we have strength in depth to significantly grow our business,” concluded Mr. Watson.
