Klook launches new event booking services via Klook App

Klook collaborated with Mandopop star Jay Chou to become the world’s first platform in tours and activities space to offer frictionless event booking.

Hong Kong – Klook, a world leading travel activities and services booking platform, has become the first in this space to offer event booking. Accessible via the award-winning Klook App, the service debuted in collaboration with Taiwanese musician Jay Chou in September.

Ahead of Chou’s The Invincible World Tour II – Macau in December, Klook served as the official and exclusive priority booking partner. To keep up with insatiable demand from Chou’s fans, Klook developed a booking system to handle sharp spikes in traffic as soon as tickets went on sale. From start to finish, concert goers were able to book tickets in as little as 30 seconds. The Klook App also provides a crucial overview of ticket availability, by displaying the number of customers waiting for tickets and the percentage of tickets remaining. Combining an efficient booking process and crucial ticketing information, Klook created a hassle-free mobile booking experience for both concert goers and organizer.

The new service answers a demand for in-destination events and experiences from travelers. According to Klook’s 2018 events survey, the company found that more than 50 percent of travelers have planned their trips around seasonal, one-off activities, such as concerts, based on independent research company across 12 destinations worldwide. With an event as the priority, travelers then book flights, accommodations, and other activities to enhance the experience.

Following a successful launch with Chou, Klook will continue to offer event booking services for exciting events around the world in the coming months.

We’re excited to tap into event booking as part of our corporate strategy,” says COO and Co-Founder Eric Gnock Fah. “At Klook, we’ve seen a growing demand for experiential travel, and we’re excited to offer this convenient new mobile event booking service to our customers.”
