Indias leading industrialists recognise Thailand as The Best International Golfing Destination

Thailand has been conferred “Best International Golfing Destination” award by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The award was conferred at the 6th Asia Golf Industry Show organised by CII from 1st-3rd March, 2014, at the Manekshaw Centre.

NEW DELHI –  Director TAT New Delhi Office, Ms. Runjuan Tongrut received the award against the backdrop of a movie clip of Thailand’s Golf Ambassador in India, Gaganjeet Bhullar teeing off at one of the many spectacular golf courses in Thailand.

Commenting on the award, Ms. Runjuan said, “This award is especially meaningful for us because the CII represents India’s leading industrialists and business leaders. We are all aware that much business is done on the golf course, and I am overjoyed that India’s eminent businessmen and women find Thai golf courses worthy of such a prestigious award.”

She added, “We are very delighted to have Gaganjeet Bhullar on board. He is one of India’s most promising golfers and a huge inspiration to golfers in India.  He has often been to Thailand and enjoys playing golf there. We believe that this brand-building partnership will be of a long-term benefit to both Thai and Indian golfers. He also takes care of junior golfers under the Gaganjeet Bhullar Foundation, which TAT has supported.”

Thailand is one of the world’s leading golfing destinations, with over 250 world-class golf courses, many of which are designed by internationally famous architects.
Golfers can enjoy their golf and have a holiday at the same time. Challenging and exciting courses, staffed by knowledgeable caddies are the reasons for the country being the popular choice of golf enthusiasts.

Visitors can also watch a number of tournaments which are held annually, with many of the world’s leading players competing. These include the Royal Trophy Europe verses Asia Golf Championship, LPGA, etc.

Recently, Hua Hin a few hours by car from Bangkok was voted the #1 Golf Destination in Asia at the IAGTO awards in Spain. Hua Hin boasts world-class golf resorts with well-trained caddies.
In March 2013, TAT and Thai Airways hosted the India Golf Tourism Association (IGTA) tournament in Phuket. A total of 16 leading golf tour operators who are also members of IGTA played three rounds of golf at the famous Blue Canyon, Laguna-Banyan Tree and Red Mountain courses.

In April 2013, Thailand also hosted the National Finals of TAKE Solutions World Corporate Challenge (TSWCGC) 2013 at Lam Luk Ka Country Club in Bangkok. Mr. Vidhit Tulshan and Dhruv Kumar from Terrai Natural Products won this tournament.
