Impact continues to enjoy growth in 2010

Impact Exhibition Management Co., Ltd., which manages and operates Impact Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani, has announced the number of bookings for exhibitions and conventions continue to grow consistently with advance bookings for Impact event spaces in 2010 already amount to 40 percent of the total spaces available.

Mr. Paul Kanjanapas, Managing director of Impact Exhibition Management Co., Ltd., said “Based on the advance bookings of our event spaces, we are confident that we can match and even surpass the total number of events that took place at Impact in 2009. IMPACT provided exhibition and convention spaces for over 800 events, attracting around 15 million Thai and foreign visitors.”

“Another positive indicator is the increase in the number of bookings for consumer fairs for 2010 when compared to 2009, signaling a return of consumer confidence. Although the number of advance bookings for trade exhibitions for 2010 remains at the same level as those in 2009, we expect the figures will soon improve in line with the global economic recovery, given no further setbacks occur of course.”

He continued “Thailand’s MICE industry in 2010 will be one of the segment that continues to see growth due to the improving global economic, although the recovery will be in a slow, cautious pace. We look to 2011 to be the year of full recovery and more sustainable for the industry, still it will depend on the volatile factors such as Thai political situation and the concerns over the A/H1N1 pandemic”.

Despite the projected slow economic recovery in 2010, Mr. Paul said “The impact is expected to be short-term, and this confidence has led us to invest 2,000 million baht developing a four-star hotel aimed at providing convenience for exhibitors and visitors. This is part of our plan to become a complete one-stop-service MICE destination in Thailand and Asia. The hotel will complement our offerings of event space rentals, sales and marketing services for events, consultancy services for organizing new events, as well as public relations services on existing and new events and to reach out to new group of customers.”
