Hostelworld.com offer silver lining to those stranded by volcanic ash

Hostelworld.com have announced a silver lining to the ash filled cloud. Customers affected by the flight cancellations will be credited with their deposit and automatically put into a draw next week to win an iTouch a day along with Hostelworld.com merchandise.

The volcanic eruption in Iceland has affected many backpackers across the world, with many left stranded or unable to get to their destination. Hostelworld.com is doing everything they can to ease the burden to our customers and those who have been left stranded or cannot make their bookings due to  the disruption caused by the volcanic ash can get in touch with the Hostelworld.com customer service team on customerservice@hostelworld.com who will look at all queries on a case by case basis.

All those affected will be offered their deposit to be credited back to their accounts which can be used on future bookings. They must however cancel their booking direct with the hostel. All customers who have been issued with credit, or refunded to, will then be automatically placed in a draw to receive the prize.

Hostelworld.com’s free iphone app is an excellent way for stranded customers to find a hostel close by and many hostels are playing their part in volcano specials with many offering cheaper beds, free nights, free wifi and drinks vouchers. Hostelworld.com’s award winning content is an excellent resource for stranded backpackers, giving them information on the many things they can do while stranded.
