Hong Kong Airlines passengers to enjoy self-bag drop service soon

Six SBD machines will be installed at Hong Kong Airlines counters at Aisle K of HKIA. Ground staff of the airline will assist passengers with the new service.

HONG KONG – Hong Kong Airlines, the internationally-acclaimed full-service
airline, will launch the Self-Bag Drop (SBD) service for passengers departing from Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), providing enhanced travel convenience to its passengers.*
 
Six SBD machines will be installed at Hong Kong Airlines counters at Aisle K of HKIA. Ground staff of the airline will assist passengers with the new service. For the first two weeks, each passenger who uses the service will be presented with a gift as a token of gratitude for their support to the airline’s innovative initiatives.
 
During the trial run, the SBD service only applies to passengers with 1 checked baggage. Passengers with multiple baggages will be able to enjoy the service after official launch.
 
There are a few steps to use SBD:
Step 1: Complete website/ mobile APP/ self check-in with boarding pass on hand 
Step 2: Proceed to the SBD counters at Aisle K, Hong Kong International Airport
Step 3: Follow the instructions from the SBD device and retrieve the bag tag
Step 4: Attach the bag tag to your bag
Step 5: Drop the bag off at our counter and collect the baggage receipt
 
Hong Kong Airlines is always committed to providing friendly service to its passengers. The airline constantly explores innovative service to enhance passenger experience. Last year, Hong Kong Airlines presented “Sweeten You Up” service campaign, offering a series of upgraded services to newlyweds or couples celebrating their anniversaries, as well as birthday and children passengers for them to experience a sweet and enjoyable journey with their beloved in the sky.

 

* SBD service is not applicable to overweight and oversized checked baggage
