Gilt-edged awards from PATA

It’s time to ‘go for gold’ with the PATA Gold Awards 2009. Travel and tourism industry stakeholders who have made outstanding contributions to develop and promote travel and tourism across the Asia Pacific region in a responsible manner may now submit entries.

The awards, open to both PATA members and non-members, recognise exceptional achievement in six broad categories: Marketing Campaign, Environment, Heritage & Culture, Education & Training, Marketing Media and Travel Journalism.  Deadline for entries is April 30th.

The Association will present up to 25 Gold Awards and four Grand Awards at a special luncheon in Hangzhou on September 25th during PATA Travel Mart. Highlights of winning entries will be on display at the Mart and award recipients are featured in the ‘Winners’ Showcase’ souvenir booklet.

Sponsored by the Macau Government Tourist Office for the past 13 years, the PATA Gold Awards set industry standards for excellence and innovation. MGTO Director, Joγo Manuel Costa Antunes, said, “Once again we are proud to be the sponsor of this prestigious awards programme.  As we brace for challenging times ahead we look forward to seeing more outstanding projects from the region for the development and promotion of the travel and tourism industry.”
