Frasers Hospitality scores hat-trick in Top HR Awards

Frasers Hospitality Pte Ltd (Frasers) has taken top place in Human Resources magazine’s annual awards – for the third consecutive year. The awards – voted on by HR practitioners in Singapore – gave a resounding ‘yes’ vote to Frasers in the Serviced Apartments category in the leading human resources publication’s HR Vendors of the Year (VOTY) 2009 Awards.

The award follows a long list of accolades for the home-grown serviced residence owner and management company. Within the past six months, Frasers has taken line honours in top hospitality and service awards in Hanoi, Singapore and Sydney.

Commenting on the award, Frasers Chief Executive Officer, Mr Choe Peng Sum said: “As we expand around the world – last year we opened 812 individual serviced residences in six countries worldwide and we have another 4000 in the pipeline leading to 2011 – we face the challenge of replicating our service culture and core values to give us a leading edge”. So, recognition in the form of awards from our industry peers confirms our status as one of the top providers of luxury accommodation for the extended stay market and is therefore invaluable,” he said.

The winners of Human Resources magazine’s annual awards were decided by an online survey conducted by independent research and business consultancy firm, Business Decision Maker (BDM) Intelligence, followed by a questionnaire for the nominees designed by Human Resources magazine.

Frasers came out tops as the most preferred serviced apartment operator among all respondents. In addition, the company was the first choice by those in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) industry and also among the expatriate population. The annual survey aims to provide HR practitioners with new hindsight for improving the effectiveness of their programmes and allow HR vendors to gain an overview of how well they rank against their competitors as well as the market’s perceptions of themselves. And as further testament to the excellence of the Fraser brand, Fraser Suites Hanoi – which opened in 2008 – has been conferred the 2009 Golden Dragon Award for the “The Most Favourite Serviced Apartment” for the second year running.

The Golden Dragon Awards are co-organised annually by Vietnam Economic Times and the Foreign Investment Department under the Ministry of Planning and Investment, to give recognition to foreign invested enterprises (FIEs) in Vietnam and to acknowledge their outstanding economic contribution. Fraser Suites Hanoi was among 80 FIEs in Vietnam to receive the prestigious award this year.

Other recent awards include Fraser Suites Sydney receiving the “Serviced Apartment Property of the Year” in the HM (Hotel & Accommodation Management) Awards for Hotel & Accommodation Excellence, which recognises excellence in the hotel and accommodation industry across 40 categories.

Forty two of the company’s staff members also gained recognition for delivering exceptional service by a team comprising 10 leading industry associations when they received the Standards, Productivity and Innovation Board (SPRING) Singapore’s Excellent Service Award (EXSA).

“These awards strongly endorse our passion and commitment to providing the finest accommodation and service for all our guests, as well as setting new benchmarks in the serviced residence industry,” said Mr Choe.

Frasers Hospitality is on track to grow from their current estimated 5,000 serviced residences to more than 9,000 units by 2011.

New property projects are currently in the pipeline in the Middle East, and in over ten destinations in the Asia Pacific region, including a debut in new markets such as India and Budapest and the opening of properties in the existing markets of Japan and China. The company is also looking to extend their global footprint across North and South America in the near future.
