China Southern launched stop-over flight to Rome with Dreamliner

China Southern Airlines on 16 December launched inaugural flight from Guangzhou (CAN) to Rome (FCO). The new service will be a stop-over flights via Wuhan, the capital of central China’s Hubei province, operated three-times-weekly. It is to be the first flight from South China operated by Chinese airline commercially.
 

The Rome service will be operated by China Southern’s Dreamliner Boeing 787-8 aircraft in classical three-class configuration featuring China Southern’s refreshed First Class, Business Class as well as long-haul Economy Class seats. Together with the premium service provided by China Southern’s cabin crew and most advanced inflight on-demand entertainment system in all classes, passengers will enjoy a superior inflight experience when travelling between Guangzhou and Rome.
 

China Southern Chief Operating Office Zhang Zifang said: “China Southern already has a significant presence in Europe, the Rome will help meet demand for both business and leisure traveler bounded for Italy. The launch of Rome, together with the recently announced introduction of flights to Christchurch, highlights our Canton Route strategy, continue to boost Guangzhou’s standing as an international aviation hubs.”
 

China Southern currently operates up to 100 flights per week between Guangzhou and a number of destinations in Europe, including Paris, Amsterdam, London, Istanbul, Frankfurt and Moscow and Tbilisi.
