Booking.com launches first global last-minute hotel app

Missed your train? Flight delayed? Need a hotel fast? No problem. Booking.com, the world’s leading online hotel reservation company and part of The Priceline Group, launched Booking.com Tonight. Booking.com Tonight is the first global last-minute hotel booking app offering same-night hotel rooms at special savings up to 50% over regular rates, plus the world’s widest variety of accommodations, bookable all the time at the guaranteed lowest price.

The app, which is designed for iPhone and iPod touch, can be downloaded for free from the iTunes store https://itunes.apple.com/app/booking.com-tonight-last-minute/id516563800?mt=8.

“Booking.com Tonight just makes last-minute booking easier,” said Darren Huston, chief executive officer of Booking.com.  “Booking.com Tonight taps into Booking.com’s worldwide inventory of more than 200,000 hotels and other accommodations in 165 countries, and delivers great prices on every single booking no matter where you stay.”

Booking.com Tonight is the latest in Booking.com’s family of hotel booking apps. In 2011, Booking.com’s customers completed more than $1 billion in transactions on mobile devices. Booking.com decided to create the last-minute app after finding that 40% of its mobile hotel bookings for Los Angeles, New York, London, Hong Kong, Dubai and other international cities are for same-day check-in.

The Booking.com Tonight app is very easy to use. One tap on the app retrieves all the available hotels in the immediate area, including those special last-minute deals. Hotels are booked through a streamlined two-step booking process. The app simplifies check-in by immediately contacting the hotel and automatically saving the booking confirmation to the user’s device. It also provides handy maps for getting from your current location to the hotel. In all, you can get “from app to nap” in 5 taps.
