Bangkok – Best Western is present in Thailand with 13 properties and plans to expand strongly until 2013 by adding 5 more properties including its luxury brand in Bangkok. On June 1, the company will officially open its first Best Western Premier in the Thai capital. “We will have a very contemporary hotel in its layout, offering an exclusive service in its 145 rooms”, explains Michael Long, General Manager of the property and also in charge of the Best Western Plus@20 Sukhumvit. The new hotel opens at a time of high competition in the Thai capital. “It is true that many hotels recently opened or are due to open soon in this area. But I am convinced that we will establish ourselves in the market thanks to our ideal location and the extra services we will offer to all of our guests,” he explains. The hotel is just a few meters from Soi Nana on Sukhumvit Soi 1, a famed entertainment area. “However, Soi 1 is a rather peaceful street, ideal for families or couples who would like to still enjoy a quiet environment without being far from a large shopping and entertainment area”, adds Mr. Long. The hotel will have two types oif room, Premier (32 m2) and Premier Suite (54 m2). Free wi-fi, concierge desk, free DVD player, LCD television as well as a restaurant, a bar, an outdoor swimming pool and a fitness centre will be part of the available services. The additional amenities will make it for room rates which will not be heavily discounted despite competition.

For now, the Best Western Premier Sukhumvit receives mostly bookings from Europe and the USA but Michael Long believes that other markets from Northeast Asia or from the Middle East will also be part of the future regular guests.

More Best Western properties are due to open soon all around Thailand. Three more properties will be inaugurated before year end in Bangkok including the 256-room Best Western Grand Howard Sathorn, the 42-room Best Western Klassique Sukhumvit 71 as well as the 169-room Best Western Tukchang Ratchayothin. In 2013,  Best Western will also open a new property on Patong Beach in Phuket with 200 rooms.
