Best Western brings international hospitality to Palangkaraya, central Kalimantan

Designed in a modern Dayak style, the hotel features 133 cozy and contemporary rooms, all of which come fully equipped with comfortable king or twin beds, refreshing bathrooms, working desks and the latest technology, such as flat-screen TVs and complimentary Wi-Fi.

Best Western Hotels & Resorts continues to introduce its international standards of hospitality to Indonesia’s most dynamic destinations with the launch of Best Western Batang Garing, a modern midscale hotel in Palangkaraya, the capital and largest city in Central Kalimantan.

Perfectly positioned in the heart of the city, just 15 minutes’ drive from Tjilik Riwut Airport and surrounded by local attractions, offices and government buildings, Best Western Batang Garing is the ideal option for business and leisure travelers alike. Designed in a modern Dayak style, the hotel features 133 cozy and contemporary rooms, all of which come fully equipped with comfortable king or twin beds, refreshing bathrooms, working desks and the latest technology, such as flat-screen TVs and complimentary Wi-Fi.

High-quality Indonesian, pan-Asian and Western cuisine can be enjoyed at the hotel’s all-day restaurant, while the chic lounge serves a wide range of refreshments throughout the day and evening, with a choice of indoor and outdoor seating. Guests can cool off in the semi-indoor swimming pool and experience soothing therapies at the spa and massage area.

Best Western Batang Garing is also set to become one of the city’s top venues for meetings and events, with three well-equipped function spaces and a large ballroom that can host major corporate functions and social occasions, including weddings. With its prime location in the city center, guests can explore local attractions such as Huma Betang, Balanga Museum and the Soekarno Monument. A short drive outside Palangkaraya, the jungles of Central Kalimantan offer outstanding opportunities for eco adventures, including boat trips and wildlife treks in Sebangau National Park, which is home to the world’s largest population of orangutans.

“We are excited to open Best Western Batang Garing, introducing our world-famous standards of hospitality to yet another exciting Indonesian destination. Our core Best Western brand is perfectly suited to Indonesia’s emerging second and third tier cities, such as Palangkaraya, which are seeing rising demand for high-quality accommodations and amenities. With its contemporary rooms and suites, fantastic facilities and professional meeting spaces, this new hotel is set to become one of the city’s most sought-after places to stay, meet, dine and unwind,” said Erwann Mahe, Managing Director, International Operations – Asia, BWH Hotel Group.

The launch of Best Western Batang Garing marks the latest phase of Best Western’s expansion strategy in Indonesia. At present, the company operates 18 properties across the country, comprising 10 Best Western, three Best Western Plus and five Best Western Premier branded hotels. Looking ahead, the group will continue to unveil new brands in established locations such as Jakarta and Bali, while also introducing international hospitality to the country’s emerging regions.
