Amadeus scoops awards across the board as it continues its Asia Pacific trajectory

A year to celebrate as Amadeus powers the Asia Pacific traveller experience.

BANGKOK, Thailand – As we welcome the next billion travellers in Asia Pacific, shaping one of a kind experiences remains travel’s biggest challenge, as well as its greatest opportunity. Travellers are better informed and seek more personalised experiences, and technology is playing an even more important role to enhance their travel experience.

Amadeus has been perfecting the blend of travel and technology with personal, consultative selling to build enduring relationships with travellers in Asia Pacific for more than 20 years. Reflecting the huge and positive impact it has had on the travel industry in Asia Pacific, Amadeus has been decorated with a number of prestigious awards throughout 2016.

The World Travel Awards was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all key sectors of the travel tourism & hospitality industry. In 2016 Amadeus was awarded two awards in Asia: Asia’s Leading Travel Merchandising Solution Provider 2016 and Asia’s Leading Travel Technology Provider 2016.

In Europe Amadeus took the gong as Europe’s Leading Travel Merchandising Solution Provider 2016.

Frost & Sullivan, the global research and consulting organisation, also presented the 2016 Asia Pacific Airlines IT Solutions Company of the Year award to Amadeus for demonstrating excellence in growth, innovation, and leadership in the airline IT space.

Wrapping up this success has been the recognition of Amadeus as a Top Employer in Thailand as well as a Top Employer in Australia for 2017 by the global Top Employers Institute.

Reflecting on a year of distinction, Amadeus Asia Pacific President Albert Pozo said “Amadeus is a diverse and inclusive global organisation with a focus on customer experience and innovative technology. Nowhere is that more apparent than in Asia Pacific, so I’m exceptionally proud that this has been recognised by these prestigious organisations. I’m excited to look forward to another 20 years of accelerating success at the centre of the travel ecosystem.”

Today Amadeus powers 33 of the leading airlines in Asia Pacific on its Award-winning Altea Passenger Service System (PSS), partners with many of the leading online and offline travel agencies to provide the best content, and invests in R&D and innovative partnerships that shape the future of travel.

The momentum continues from late 2015 when the Amadeus Asia Pacific Corporate Communications team was named Communications Team of the Year by the Asia Pacific Association of Communication Directors.
