Amadeus gets Air New Zealand fares

Travel agencies worldwide can enjoy continued access to Air New Zealand’s content via the Amadeus system.

BANGKOK – Amadeus, a leading technology provider for the global travel industry, and Air New Zealand, the national airline and flag carrier of New Zealand, announces a contract renewal that ensures travel agencies around the world can search and book Air New Zealand fares via Amadeus.

Amadeus-connected travel agents in Australia, New Zealand and the rest of the world can search and book the same range of air fares that Air New Zealand provides all its GDS (global distribution system) partners.

Jeff McDowall, Group General Manager Commercial, Air New Zealand said, “Amadeus has proven to be a reliable and trusted partner to Air New Zealand for many years. With its extensive global travel agency network and in-depth understanding of the Pacific market, we look forward to continuing to work with Amadeus.

Hazem Hussein, EVP, Airline Commercial, Amadeus Asia Pacific added, “As an airline known for its world class flight experience, we are delighted to continue supporting Air New Zealand to help realise its growth potential. The travel agency network is a critical sales channel in the Pacific region, and we thank Air New Zealand for its ongoing confidence in us as a distribution partner.”

Amadeus plays a critical role in the distribution space with 39.9% market share globally of travel agency air bookings. Over 85% of Amadeus bookings worldwide are made on airlines with which Amadeus has a content agreement.
