Grebstad Hicks Communications (GHC), Asia’s PR specialist in the promotion of luxury travel has been appointed PR partner for Asia Luxury Travel Market (ALTM) – the first event in Asia Pacific aimed exclusively at the luxury end of the travel industry.

ALTM is a brand new annual event which will be held in Shanghai from June 18-21 2007 and provides a forum for the world’s most exclusive hotels, resorts and operators of luxurious travel experiences to meet with the most important people who are arranging travel for the wealthy in Asia Pacific.

“We are very excited to be bringing this exciting show to Asia Pacific and delighted to have engaged GHC, who have an excellent track record in luxury travel promotion in the region, as our PR partner” said Jay Martens, Event Director of ALTM.

ALTM is the sister event to the highly successful International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM), now in its 5th year of operation, which is held every December in Cannes and brings the world’s top buyers and sellers of luxury travel together in one event.

Organised by Reed Travel Exhibitions, ALTM is the brainchild of Serge Dive and David Hammond, the duo who first conceived ILTM and who are now regarded as two of the world’s foremost experts in the luxury travel industry.

“With the explosion in wealth and prosperity from the Asia Pacific region, we felt it was time for a dedicated platform for the world’s luxury travel industry to meet face to face with the top buyers from this dynamic region,” said Serge Dive. “And although China is only one of the exciting markets in the region that we are targeting, what better place to hold the event than Shanghai, Asia’s most exciting and glamorous new city.”

“As with ILTM, ALTM will be run like a private club and only the most exclusive travel suppliers and the most important VIP travel buyers will be allowed to attend. The buyers who will be from the leading markets in the Asia Pacific region will be fully hosted to attend the show,” explained David Hammond.

ALTM will be unlike any other trade show and will take place in a highly exclusive environment in which buyers and sellers meet on a unique pre-arranged appointment system.

The event will also be surrounded by a number of exclusive and glamorous networking parties which will be the talk of the town, and will feature high tech devices which allow buyers and sellers to locate one another electronically.

As with ILTM, ALTM will also be preceeded by a high-level conference in which world experts from the luxury industry will present insights into the latest trends that are shaping the world of luxury travel in the region.
