The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) and National Geographic Channel Asia (NGC Asia) join forces and go live with a campaign to drive consumer traffic to PATA`s new consumer Web site TravelWithPATA.com.

The US$400,000 campaign, which launches on the Asia regional feeds of NGC and also on the A1 Channel, is an important element of Project Phoenix, PATA`s global communications campaign to restore confidence in travel to and within Asia Pacific.

The campaign is based on an upbeat and dynamic 30-second vignette which drives travellers to check out TravelWithPATA.com. The site offers everything you need to know about travel in Asia Pacific, including travel news, advice and information about 48 destinations within the region. Visitors can also access a range of travel deals.

The vignette will air several times a night on National Geographic Channel and A1 Channel until December 31, reaching more than 12 million households in the region.

PATA President and CEO, Mr. Peter de Jong, said National Geographic Channel would play an integral role in the Project Phoenix agenda to re-invigorate demand for travel within Asia Pacific.

He said the campaign was part of a broader marketing alliance between National Geographic and PATA, whereby PATA members were being offered great value promotional packages with National Geographic Channel, National Geographic magazine and Star Asia Travel.

Mr. Ward Platt, Managing Director of National Geographic Channel Asia said: We are delighted to be working together with PATA to help revive the tourism industry in Asia Pacific, and are pleased to provide a platform for PATA to showcase all the wonderful destinations Asia Pacific has to offer.
