Shangri-La Hotel Haikou now opened in China’s Hawaii

Seaside Views, Ocean Breezes Await Guests at the new 337-room Shangri-La Haikou, located in the capital city of Hainan Island.

HONG KONG- Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts officially arrived on the shore of ‘China’s Hawaii’ this week with the opening of the 337-room Shangri-La Hotel, Haikou on Hainan Island.

Located seaside amidst a sprawling lush tropical garden, the luxury hotel offers spectacular sea views, a full range of urban resort amenities, and extensive event and meeting venues.

To celebrate its debut, Shangri-La Hotel, Haikou is offering a special opening package through 31 March 2013 that includes a stay in a Deluxe Sea View Room, daily buffet breakfast for two and a food and beverage credit. The offer is subject to a two night minimum stay and a 15 per cent tax and service charge. Guests can call the hotel or book the special online.

Hainan Island has been tapped to become a leading international tourism resort destination, and the provincial capital of Haikou is its tourism and cultural centre and transportation hub, making it ideal for leisure and business travellers. The Shangri-La Hotel, Haikou caters extensively to the meetings and wedding markets with stunning venues and a convenient location adjacent to the Hainan International Exhibition Centre.          
               
One of the hotel’s stand-out venues is the Hall of Splendour, which is set in the hotel’s 30,000-square-metre tropical garden and features dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the sea. The property’s 986-square-metre Grand Ballroom is pillar free and is the largest among the city’s starred hotels. In total the hotel offers 2,400 square metres of meeting and conference space.

In addition to Shangri-La’s renowned hospitality, Shangri-La Hotel, Haikou features brand signatures such as spacious, well-appointed guestrooms; complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the hotel; an enticing array of restaurants, and a full complement of leisure and recreational facilities, including outdoor and indoor swimming pools, natural hot spring pools, a gym, tennis court and a spa.

Restaurants range from Sirena, an Italian seafood restaurant, to the lively Café Kool with its chef-manned cooking stations featuring an array of international cuisine. The hotel’s Shang Palace serves authentic Cantonese cuisine and Hainan specialities.

The Shangri-La Hotel, Haikou opened on 26 November 2012. The property is owned by Universe Holdings Group and managed by Shangri-La International Hotel Management Ltd.
