King Power’s “Kingdom of Dragons” celebrates the Chinese New Year in Bangkok, blending culture, tradition, and culinary delights to position Thailand as a premier global tourist destination.

King Power joyously ushered in the Chinese New Year with the grand unveiling of its “Kingdom of Dragons” experience, marking a vibrant celebration for the Year of the Dragon. This festive event, dubbed “King Power Chinese New Year 2024. Power Your Luck, Power Your Life,” stands as a testament to the travel-retail leader’s commitment to fostering a spirit of renewal and prosperity.

Launched with an elaborate press conference and opening ceremony on 6 February 2024, at King Power Rangnam’s Fountain Square, the event commenced with an impressive dragon dance along Rangnam Road, witnessed by attendees including Bangkok’s Governor Chadchart Sittipunt and Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). This momentous occasion highlighted King Power’s dedication to becoming a pivotal force in promoting Thai tourism and transforming the Rangnam area into a distinguished tourist destination within Bangkok.

Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, CEO of King Power, emphasized the significance of the event in reinforcing King Power’s welcoming stance towards both Thai and international customers and tourists. “Our initiative to celebrate the Chinese New Year Festival aims to immerse visitors in Thai-Chinese culture and traditions while enjoying Thailand’s culinary delights. It’s a step towards making Thailand a ‘top of mind’ destination for global travelers,” Srivaddhanaprabha remarked. He further outlined King Power’s ongoing strategy to drive growth in the Rangnam area, contributing to community development and bolstering Bangkok’s tourism sector.

Spanning 18 days, the festival featured a spectacular array of activities, including five majestic dragon parades led by renowned artists such as PP-Krit Amnuaydechkorn and Win-Metawin Opas-iamkajorn, among others. Highlights included performances by Yin-Anan Wong and Chamook-Suchanan Mahaphromwan on 10 February, followed by Nont-Tanont Chumroen’s exhilarating show on 11 February, enriching the festivities with musical and cultural acts from China.

The event also offered attendees the chance to indulge in “Auspicious Cuisine from over 50 Renowned Restaurants,” showcasing dishes from legendary eateries and Michelin Guide-endorsed restaurants like Tang Jai Yoo and Cross BKK. This culinary journey was available to all from 1 to 18 February 2024, enhancing the festive atmosphere with a taste of auspiciousness.

King Power’s “Shop & Prosper: Get Lucky & Wealthy” promotion further added to the celebratory mood, promising participants a chance to win and experience thrice the fortune, happiness, and prosperity.

King Power’s Chinese New Year 2024 event not only celebrated the Year of the Dragon but also symbolized a dynamic step forward in enriching Thailand’s tourism landscape, highlighting the Rangnam area’s potential as a vibrant new tourist hub in Bangkok.
