Tourism Malaysia’s “One-stop Service” booth in TITF#15

Tourism Malaysia’s “One-stop Service” booth drew thousands of visitors and sold more than THB 2 million worth of packages at the 15th Thailand International Travel Fair 2014.

BANGKOK  – Tourism Malaysia spurred Thai tourists to surge to their unique one-stop service booth at the 15th Thailand International Travel Fair 2014 (TITF#15), held from August 14 to 17 at Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre. The booth’s ‘one-stop service’ concept enabled visitors to arrange all their travel arrangements – flight, accommodation and tour package – in order to ensure a truly memorable experience in Malaysia. The booth exposition aimed to promote Visit Malaysia Year 2014 campaign and pave the way for the upcoming Year of Festival 2015.

The first day of the fair on August 14, Tourism Malaysia had the honour to welcome Anupharp Thirarath, the deputy-director of Domestic Marketing of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) together with Suparerk Surangkul, the president of Thai Travel Agents Association (TTAA) during their visit to the booth. Sulaiman Suip, the director of Tourism Malaysia Thailand Office, presented them with a memento proboscis monkey, the mascot of Visit Malaysia Year 2014.

The next highlight was the arrival of Pompaem from Toey Tiaw Thai, one of the trendsetters in online travel programmes in Thailand, which uses funny games and entertainment activities to attract the public attention. More than 10 lucky winners won premium prizes such as big clocks, USB drives, T-shirts or proboscis monkey dolls. With TAT expecting 200,000 visitors during the four-day fair, Tourism Malaysia’s one-stop service booth attracted thousands of visitors and sold more than THB 2 million of tour packages and air tickets to over a hundred travellers.

Those who booked packages during the fair have the chance to win an iPad Mini 2 and two hotel vouchers for two in Genting and Kuala Lumpur. The names of the winner will be announced through the official Facebook @Tourism Malaysia Thailand by September 1, 2014.

“This year we would like the visitors to truly experience Malaysia as a unique destination. Our one-stop service booth is a friendly welcome to help facilitate and communicate information on the most up-to-date and insightful tourism products; attractive places still to be explored such as Sabah: Underwater Treasure in Borneo and George Town’s wonderful celebrations this month. We have selected exclusive deals for all tourist market segments, and have FREE premium prizes to give away for fun and entertaining activities. We do believe that Malaysia can be the paradise destination for Thai tourists this year, Visit Malaysia Year 2014 and for the Year of Festival 2015,” said Sulaiman Suip.

In the first quarter of 2014, 333,131 Thai tourists flocked to Malaysia, an increase of 20.9% corresponding to the same period last year, while the number of flights capacity increased by 39.1%, demonstrating the consistent popularity of Malaysia as a preferred destination for Thai tourists.
