Bangkok – H.E. Mr. Weerasak Kowsurat, Thailand’s Minister of Tourism and Sports, recently joined a “Friendly Design Trip’ to the Damnoen Saduak and Lak Ha Floating Markets in Ratchaburi to promote universal accessibility and tourism for all.
The one-day trip, which took place on 23 March, was joined by executives and staff of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Mr. Krisana Lalai, President of Friendly Design for All Foundation, a human rights worker and a famous journalist and TV host in Thailand, as well as the Friendly Design for All’s Network of Wheelchair Users.
Ratchaburi is one of the nine pilot routes launched by the TAT in September, last year, aimed at encouraging universal design, or friendly design, catering to disabled travellers at facilities and tourism attractions across Thailand.
