TAT participated in PATA Travel Mart 2015 in Bengaluru

This year, Mr. Sugree Sithivanich, TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications, led Thailand’s delegation, a total of nine sellers from Thailand who participated in the PTM 2105. He also gave a briefing to the foreign travel media and updated them on the latest Thai tourism situation and TAT marketing strategies for 2015 and 2016.

KARNATAKA, India – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) attended the annual PATA Travel Mart 2015 held in the rapidly-growing South Indian city of Bengaluru during 6-8 September, 2015.
 
This year, Mr. Sugree Sithivanich, TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications, led Thailand’s delegation, a total of nine sellers from Thailand who participated in the PTM 2105; Khiri Travel, Rembrandt Hotel Bangkok, Asian Trails, Buri Beach Resort, Travel Motivations, The CodeRama Gardens Hotel Bangkok, Kata Sea Breeze Resort and Springfield Group Resort Golf and Spa. Alongside attending the various PATA events, he also gave a briefing to the foreign travel media and updated them on the latest Thai tourism situation and TAT marketing strategies for 2015 and 2016.
 
Mr. Sugree said, “The PATA Mart and its events are the premier travel trade show and events in the Asia-Pacific region. They offer a dynamic programme and remarkable platform to showcase travel products and services, and bring together in one market place hundreds of international buyers and sellers in the industry. Next year, Thailand is proud to be the host of the PATA Adventure Travel and Responsible Tourism Conference and Mart 2016 (ATRTCM 2016), which will take place in the delightful and historic northern Thailand city of Chiang Rai with the theme ‘Creating Experiences, Sharing Opportunities’ during 17-19 February, 2016.
 
Moreover, Mr. Sugree also received the awards that two of TAT’s campaign commercials won at the Pacific Asia Travel Association’s annual PATA Gold Awards. The viral hit “I Hate Thailand” took a Gold Award for Marketing in the Social Media Category, while a second PATA Gold Award went to the “Discover Thainess” campaign in the Promotional Travel Video category.

Visitor arrivals to Thailand totalled 17.5 million between January-July 2015, up 30.93% over the same period of 2014 and generating an estimated 697 billion Baht in tourism revenue. Thailand welcomed the 20 millionth visitor on 26 August, 2015, just 10 days after the19 millionth visitor on 16 August, 2015.
 
By the end of this year, TAT is projecting 28.8 million international visitors generating an estimated 38 billion US dollars (1.4 trillion Baht).
