Jeju raises social distancing to Level 4 for certain areas

As a result, 12 beaches on Jeju Island will be closed and private gatherings are limited to four people before 18:00 and two after.

On August 15, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province announced social distancing will be raised to level 4 until August 29.

As a result, 12 beaches on Jeju Island will be closed and private gatherings are limited to four people before 18:00 and two after.

As cases increase, Changwon and Gimhae in Gyeongsangnam-do and Chungju in Chungcheongbuk-do will extend the period for social distancing level 4 to August 29. Haman-gun in Gyeongsangnam-do will also extend the period to August 22.

List of closed beaches on Jeju Island
  • Jeju-si: Hyeopjae, Geumneung, Gwakji, Iho Tewoo, Samyang, Hamdeok, Gimnyeong, Woljeong
  • Seogwipo-si: Jungmun Saekdal, Pyoseon, Hwasun Golden Sand Beach, Sinyangseopji
