The Australian Chapter of IIPT is holding its second Conference, Travel Promotes Peace – Meeting the challenge, on Saturday 18 September 2004, at the Avillion Hotel Sydney. This conference will build on the concept of developing a culture of peace through travel and tourism, that was introduced and discussed at last year`s inaugural conference, Tourism – Passport to Peace.

This year`s session topics are:

  • Peace and Tourism Education
  • Responsible Tourism – Industry case studies
  • Communications – Translating the Message
  • Philanthropic Tourism – Making a difference
  • Current Issues – Open Forum

Invited speakers include keynote speaker, Mr Juan Carlos Brandt, United Nations Director for Australia & the Pacific, leading industry executives, academics and IIPT members. In addition to these speakers the program format encourages audience participation and discussion.

The conference is open to all segments of the tourism industry and to any organization, company or individuals, who are interested in the philosophy and concept of Peace through Tourism.
