G’day Australia 2024: Showcasing australian wonders to specialist agents

Australia

Tourism Australia’s G’day Australia event in Perth introduces Aussie Specialist agents to Australia’s unique destinations and experiences.

Australia‘s travel and tourism landscape is going to witness a celebration of its unique attractions and experiences, thanks to the much-anticipated G’day Australia event. Scheduled to be held from 13th to 18th October 2024 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, this initiative promises to be a platform for showcasing the best of what Australia has to offer to the global travel market.

Organized by Tourism Australia in collaboration with Tourism Western Australia, G’day Australia is designed as a comprehensive familiarisation program for qualified Aussie Specialist agents. These specialists, having completed Tourism Australia’s engaging online training program, stand as ambassadors of Australian tourism, equipped with knowledge and passion for promoting Australia as a top travel destination.

Phillipa Harrison, Managing Director of Tourism Australia, emphasizes the value of transforming Aussie Specialists’ theoretical knowledge into tangible experiences. By participating in familiarisation visits across the country and engaging with tourism operators at the Perth workshop, these agents will have the opportunity to witness firsthand the incredible diversity, natural beauty, and unique cultural experiences that Australia has to offer.

This initiative is not just about showcasing Australia’s iconic landmarks and attractions; it’s a strategic move to invigorate the visitor economy and pave the way for sustainable growth in the tourism sector. As Ms. Harrison notes, the objective is to inspire the agents to advocate more vigorously for Australia as a holiday destination, fueled by their own experiences and discoveries.

Carolyn Turnbull, Managing Director of Tourism Western Australia, highlights the significance of Western Australia in the country’s tourism landscape. Described as the “Dream State,” Western Australia offers natural wonders, breathtaking landscapes, and rare experiences that are sure to captivate the hearts and minds of the visiting agents. This initiative is seen as an essential step towards introducing these unique offerings to key global markets and driving increased visitor numbers to the state.

G’day Australia serves as a unique convergence of about 100 Australian sellers and qualified Aussie Specialist travel agents from around the world, including Asia, New Zealand, North America, Europe, and the UK. It is an opportunity for these sellers to directly engage with agents, showcase their products, and forge meaningful partnerships that will help promote Australia on the international stage.

Additionally, the event will facilitate pre or post-event familiarisation programs, allowing agents to immerse themselves in the Australian experience. From exploring the vibrant cities to venturing into the wild heart of the country, these programs are designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of Australia’s tourism products and inspire agents to share these wonders with the world.

As G’day Australia 2024 approaches, the anticipation builds for an event that promises to be more than just a showcase. It is a strategic endeavor to strengthen Australia’s position as a premier travel destination, ensuring that the beauty, diversity, and cultural richness of this incredible country continue to enchant travelers from across the globe for years to come.
