Galileo International, a subsidiary of Travelport Inc., formerly Cendant Travel Distribution Services, announced the winners of its joint promotion with Tourism Australia, which is designed to further encourage tourism and travel to Australia.
The winning recipients of the promotion were Lotus Tours Limited, Traveller Services (HK) Ltd., Evergreen Tours Ltd, Associated Tours Limited and Happy Star Travel Services Limited.
Doris Tsang, Supervisor, Happy Star Travel Service Ltd said, We are very surprised and happy to have won the air ticket to Australia! We have been a user of the Galileo system for more than 10 years and such promotions help recognize the important role played by the travel agent to organizations such as Galileo and Tourism Australia.
The joint promotion, initially run in May and June, was extended for an additional two months through the end of August.
“Due to the overwhelming success of the two-month promotion, Galileo and Tourism Australia decided to extend the promotion for a further two months to allow more agents to win fantastic prizes by promoting Australia as a tourist destination,” said Mr. Hans Ebeling, General Manager, Galileo Hong Kong.
Added Ms. Carmen Tam, Manager, Tourism Australia, Hong Kong & Southern China, “The joint promotion has stimulated a definite increase in travel to Australia. Tourism Australia is glad to work with Galileo to help our trade partners to promote our destination. At the same time, we are pleased to expand our Aussie Specialist Program to the trade through this promotion as the number of Aussie Specialists has been increased by over 20%.”
