ATEC backpacker conference heads to the Sunshine Coast

ATEC’s annual Backpacker & Youth Industry Conference is being held on the Sunshine Coast on 1st May, 2012 with a great line up of speakers and discussion points.
Managing director, Felicia Mariani, said the conference, which is in its 7th year, had become a key event on the industry calendar.
“The backpacker and youth market makes up over half a million visitors to Australia each year, or 10% of our total visitor numbers, and they are a particularly important market for many regional industry operators,” Ms Mariani said.
“ATEC has worked hard to support the growth and development of this industry segment and we are pleased to be offering a conference program that not only provides insights into trends and opportunities but tackles some of the key issues head on.”
The conference will feature speakers who will look at issues including aviation access and the new opportunities offered by the fast growing China market and its impact on the youth tourism, the working holiday maker visa and other topical issues affecting the market.
The Backpacker & Youth Industry Conference will feature:

  •  Chris Flynn from the Pacific Asia Travel Association, Richard Beere from Fastrack Asian Solutions
