Vastine attained his master’s degree in Management at Teesside University in the United Kingdom, whereafter he commenced his career in hospitality at Accor Group in 2005.
Hong Kong – Ovolo Hotels, an award-winning boutique designer hotel collection, announces the appointment of Maël Vastine as the new Director of Operations in Hong Kong, bringing with him over 16 years of experience in hospitality.
Under the guidance of Girish Jhunjhnuwala, Founder & Executive Chairman, and reporting to Dave Baswal, CEO, Vastine will be ultimately responsible for Hong Kong Operations and provide strategic direction for Shared Services in Hong Kong.

Vastine attained his master’s degree in Management at Teesside University in the United Kingdom, whereafter he commenced his career in hospitality at Accor Group in 2005. With years of experience in the vibrant Hong Kong & China hospitality industry, he has held positions such as COO, General Manager, Director of Operations, and Area General Manager at Accor Group and ONYX Hospitality Group. Maël has managed over 30 properties in different countries and has been awarded by the French Finance Minister for the management of “The Euros Project” in 2001 and “The Revenue Generation” by Accor Group in 2008. His undying passion for standard implementation, exemplary presentation, service and consistency is pivotal to the success to all roles he has held and now with Ovolo.
