Banyan Tree Group’s recent and upcoming openings around the world

Banyan Tree Group, one of the world’s leading multi-brand hospitality groups, is on track to double its global portfolio, after recently announcing its 70th property milestone. As part of the brand’s five-year expansion plan, Banyan Tree is excited to announce the launch of a plethora of new remarkable properties in captivating destinations all around the world. From the pristine shores of Mozambique, Thailand and the Maldives, to the vibrant streets of Bangkok, the brand’s unwavering commitment to exceptional service, exquisite design, and authentic cultural experiences shines through in each unique setting.

There are another 30 new properties on the horizon for all Banyan Tree Group brands, including:

Banyan Tree

Banyan Tree Higashiyama Kyoto, Japan (opening spring 2024)
Located in the Gion and Higashiyama district, Banyan Tree Higashiyama Kyoto will open in spring 2024 as a 52-key luxury, hilltop urban resort boasting spectacular views of Kyoto city. Designed by Kengo Kuma & Associates is set to become the first and only hotel in Kyoto city to have a Noh stage, a traditional Japanese performance space specifically designed for Noh, a classical Japanese theatrical art form that has been performed for over 600 years.

Banyan Tree Ilha Caldeira, Mozambique (opening winter 2024)
Situated on the breath-taking Ilha Caldeira in Mozambique, Banyan Tree Ilha Caldeira promises an extraordinary island escape. Surrounded by pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters, this secluded paradise will offer 40 luxurious private pool villas, world-class dining, and an array of water sports and activities, ensuring an unforgettable stay in this idyllic destination.

Banyan Tree Varko Bay, Greece (opening 2026)
Targeting to open in 2026, the five-star resort will be the brand’s first ultra-luxury resort in Europe and will consist of approximately 116 villas and 45 branded residences, all seamlessly embedded into the stunning coastal surroundings of the Varko Peninsula with 180,000 sqm of land, including 1.9 km costal frontage and sandy beaches.

Banyan Tree Escape

This ‘no doors, no walls’ concept debuted last year, and caters to a growing market of travellers seeking truly eco-luxury experiences, paired with wellbeing and unique stays.

Banyan Tree Escape Buahan, Bali (opened summer 2022)
Banyan Tree Escape Buahan is an oasis of serenity nestled in the misty mountains, set in an off-the-beaten-track, untouched part of northern Ubud. Pioneering a “no walls, no doors” concept throughout the property, its design presents a sanctuary for relaxation offering guests a chance to reconnect with nature.

Banyan Tree Veya

Veya means ‘to weave’ and this offshoot brand to the luxury Banyan Tree all-villa concept, is entirely focused on personal wellness, taking a deep, tangible approach to wellbeing.

Banyan Tree Veya Phuket, Thailand (opened spring 2022)
The flagship of the Veya bran, Banyan Tree Veya Phuket is a wellbeing-focused resort that offers bespoke programs built on Banyan Tree’s eight pillars of wellbeing. Located on the pristine shores of Phuket, the resort combines luxurious accommodations, exceptional dining options, and stunning views for a perfect stay.

Banyan Tree Veya Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico (opening February 2024)
Nestled in the breath-taking Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico’s premier wine region, Banyan Tree Veya Valle Guadalupe will offer an unparalleled wine and wellness experience. Surrounded by vineyards and rolling hills, this luxurious resort will showcase the region’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty combined with exquisite accommodation.

Angsana

Angsana, the second Banyan Tree Group brand launched in 2000, offers family-friendly stays, with a more casual take on luxury.

Angsana Ho Tram, Vietnam (opened July 2023)
Inviting travellers to experience the epitome of coastal luxury in the stunning beachside town of Ho Tram, this resort located just a scenic drive away from Ho Chi Minh City, offers six hectares of greenery by the sea and near natural landmarks such as the Binh Chau Hot Springs or the Binh Chau-Phuoc Buu Nature Reserve. All 102 villas have lush gardens, a private water feature, and direct access to the beachfront through the unique Serenity Stream Walk, a pathway adorned with flowering plants and a winding stream.

Angsana Siem Reap, Cambodia (opening 2024)

Homm Bangkok, Thailand (opened autumn 2022)
Located in the heart of Thailand’s capital, Banyan Tree Homm Bangkok provides a sophisticated retreat amidst the energy and excitement of the city. With 148 units, a salt water swimming pool option and a Japanese private onsen this hotel is perfect for a city escape.

Homm Saranam Baturiti, Bali (opened spring 2023)
Nestled in the central highlands of Bali, HOMM Saranam offers 81 rooms, suites and villas features breath-taking views of lush tropical jungle, lagoon-style swimming pools, rice terraces and the surrounding mountains. The resort also counts with an 8LEMENTS Spa, yoga studio, meeting rooms and wedding venues.

Immersed in the tranquillity of the picturesque island of Koh Samui, Homm Chura Samui is set amidst lush tropical landscapes, overlooking the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Thailand. Opening in 2024, this resort will bring the Homm accommodation approach to the island.

Garrya Nijo Castle Kyoto, Japan (opened summer 2022)

Dhawa Yura Kyoto, Japan (opened summer 2022)
Contemporary design meets historical features in this intimate boutique hotel near the Kamo River. Located in Sanjo in the heart of Kyoto, Dhawa Yura sits within walking distance of temples, shrines, shopping, cuisine and museums. With 138 rooms, the hotel counts with several dining options and an 8Lements Spa.

Dhawa Ihuru, Maldives (opened spring 2023)
Designed to promote natural immersion and connectivity through local flavours in stunning settings Banyan Tree Group’s Dhawa launches in the Maldives with an idyllic island retreat on the North Malé Atoll. The all-inclusive villa invites sun seekers and marine life enthusiasts to explore its new dining and leisure options, all only a 20 minutes speedboat ride from Velana International Airport.

Dhawa Ho Tram, Vietnam (opened July 2023)
This 162-key hotel offers a beachfront location overlooking a pristine and stunning beach with direct access to the sandy shores of Ho Tram. The area, known for its harmonious blend of sea and forest is close to several natural wanders like the Binh Chau Hot Springs, Minh Dam Mountain, and Binh Chau-Phuoc Buu Nature Reserve, an 11,000 hectare rainforest; and only one hour away by car from the popular port city of Vung Tau is an hour away by car.
