The Perth Convention Bureau expands its Familiarisation Program

The Perth Convention Bureau offers meeting planners a variety of familiarisation opportunities in order to enhance their awareness of the diverse destination and it has never been a better time to visit Perth. With hotels completing refurbishments and new infrastructure being proposed, Western Australia is growing rapidly.

The number of famil programs the bureau offers has expanded for 2012, increasing from three regional and two CBD based famils, to offering an additional four CBD based famils partnering with key providers such as The Burswood Entertainment Complex, the Esplanade Hotel Group and the Goodearth and Perth Ambassador Hotel Group.

“The expanded familiarisation program allows not only cooperative marketing opportunities with our members but the chance for planners to experience the destination therefore creating better awareness,” said Tracey Cinavas-Prosser, Director of Membership and PR at the bureau.

CEO of the bureau, Paul Beeson said, “Perth and Western Australia are destinations, unlike others, that must be experienced in-person. As stunning as the imagery of our state is, it can’t communicate the experience. Once experienced, every visitor to WA becomes a West Australian advocate for life”.

The most recent famil program being delivered will partner with the Hyatt Regency Perth and commences on the 29th of January. This event will showcase the destination over three days whilst highlighting the extensive recent refurbishment of the Hyatt Regency Perth property.

Future opportunities to attend a famil will be in April when PCB partner with the Accor Hotel Group and a further CBD based famil in May, to run in conjunction with the Perth Event Show.

The Perth Convention Bureau will once again be exhibiting at AIME in Melbourne and invite meeting planners to come along, discuss their requirements and express their interest in participating in future famil programs.
