Tourism Malaysia promotes homestay seminar and golf networking in Vietnam

Tourism Malaysia, in collaboration with Malaysian associations, hosted a seminar in Vietnam to promote homestay tourism and education, enhancing bilateral ties and aligning with Visit Malaysia Year 2026.

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam – Tourism Malaysia in collaboration with the Malaysia Homestay Association and Education Malaysia Ho Chi Minh City, organised the Tourism, Education, Homestay Seminar and the Malaysia Golf Networking Program.

The seminar held on December 13, presented a valuable opportunity to promote community-based tourism (homestay) in Malaysia while also showcasing Malaysia as an ideal study destination for Vietnamese students aspiring to pursue education in the country.

This event witnessed the participation of representatives from various agencies in Malaysia and Vietnam, including the Malaysia Homestay Entrepreneurs Association, represented by Dato’ Sahariman Hamdan, President of Malaysia Homestay Association, the Village Stay Enterprise, and the Pahang Homestay Association.

The Malaysia Golf Program unfolded at Tan Son Nhat Golf Course, featuring three golf flights in the tournament. Malaysian representatives from the Consulate General of Malaysia and Malaysia’s partners in Vietnam were present to witness the event.

Dato’ Dr. Ammar Abd. Ghapar, Director General of Tourism Malaysia, said: “These initiatives are a testament to Malaysia’s commitment to fostering meaningful tourism exchanges. As we gear up for Visit Malaysia Year 2026, we aim to elevate these experiences and collaborations to new heights, creating enduring connections and showcasing Malaysia’s diverse attractions.”

Madam Nor Hayati Zainuddin, Director of Tourism Malaysia in Vietnam, expressed during the events: “The amalgamation of sports, art, culture, and Malaysia’s heritage is considered a perfect blend for visitors to Malaysia. We take pride in Malaysia’s golf courses being ranked among the top 100 best golf courses in Asia, and the accompanying services and infrastructure consistently meet the maximum satisfaction of our customers.”

“We believe these events will be a significant opportunity to strengthen tourism cooperation between the two countries, marking a substantial step in the development of community-based tourism (homestay) and golf tourism in Malaysia.”

Through these events, Tourism Malaysia in Vietnam pledges to provide unique experiences and create excellent opportunities to enhance tourism cooperation between the two countries. Simultaneously, it aims to expedite sustainable development in the tourism industry.

Malaysia is expecting 36.5 million tourist arrivals in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026. As of September 2023, Malaysia welcomed 272,852 tourists from Vietnam compared to 173,763 arrivals logged in 2022.
