Mr Eduard Liu, Managing Director of CEMS who is the organiser of the BITE in Beijing, talks to TravelDailyNews Asia-Pacific for the future of the travel shows and the potential of the Chinese outbound market.

Question 1

We are with Mr Eduard Liu, Managing Director of CEMS the organiser of BITE which is held in Beijing. Mr Liu, I know that your company is irganising three travel shows in China and I think BITE is the biggest one, give us some more information about your shows and how they are diferrent from all the others that are happening in this part of the world.

Chinese market and the whole Asia but especially Chinese market is very important outbound market for the rest of the world, so everybody is focusing in this area and especially after the big recession that there is now in Europe. What do you think is the potential of the Chinese outbound tourism and especially also about Asia tourism generaly and you as a company do you have any plans to help increase the volume of the travellers from Asia to the rest of the world?

There are a lot of exhibitions happening around the world and they are increasing day by day and especially in our sector, the travel industry, but I would say that we see a slight descrease of the value they have. How can the exhibition industry will adapt in the future to offer greater value to the delegates, selles and buyers, now especially that with the increase of the technology people have more options to network themselves.
