The BestCities Global Alliance has appointed Melbourne based, PRISM Communications as their Public Relations Agency. PRISM Communications commenced with the Alliance on 1 September 2011 and will spearhead a short-term, international public relations campaign that will incorporate all eight BestCities partners – and premier meeting destinations – Cape Town, Copenhagen, Dubai, Edinburgh, Melbourne, San Juan, Singapore and Vancouver.
A boutique agency, specialising in tourism and business events, PRISM Communications understands the opportunities and challenges of the international meetings industry and works strategically to develop key messages in a way that achieves long-term results for clients.
Managing Director of BestCities Global Alliance, Jane Vong Holmes said: “After recently celebrating more than 10 years together as the world’s only alliance of certified convention bureaux, the Board looked at what we had achieved and where we wanted to be in the next decade and felt the assistance of a dedicated public relations agency was essential to achieving our goals.”
“Director of PRISM Communications, Brenda Jones has more than 20 years experience in the business events industry, including seven years as Communications Manager for the award-winning Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) so is well placed to understand what we need,” said Jane.
“Brenda has also worked alongside the Melbourne Convention and Visitors Bureau with joint international public relations and marketing activities as well as working with visiting media at the Asia-Pacific Incentive and Meetings Expo (AIME) over many years,” she said.
“We are looking forward to working with PRISM Communication to augment communication amongst our partners and increase the international profile and awareness of the BestCities brand as we move into our second decade,” said Jane.
Vicky is the co-founder of TravelDailyNews Media Network where she is the Editor-in Chief. She is also responsible for the daily operation and the financial policy. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Tourism Business Administration from the Technical University of Athens and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Wales. She has many years of both academic and industrial experience within the travel industry. She has written/edited numerous articles in various tourism magazines.
