Luxury French cruise line, Ponant, has revealed its newest expedition ship, Le Jacques Cartier, will make its Australian debut in 2024 with a season of voyages in the Kimberley, prompting Australian small ship specialist, Cruise Traveller, to offer complimentary flights and extensive savings for the boutique vessel’s maiden season here.

Cruise Traveller’s new, exclusive, 12-night ‘Kingdom of the Kimberley’ fly, cruise and stay package features a 10-night luxury expedition cruise from Broome to Darwin aboard Ponant’s 184-guest exploration ship, Le Jacques Cartier. Launched in 2020 and named after a 16th Century French maritime explorer, the sleek and stylish Le Jacques Cartier boasts a refined and intimate, French-styled elegance, fine dining restaurants, plush lounges, theatre, spectacular infinity pool, an expert expedition team and personalised service. All staterooms offer a private balcony or terrace.

Le Jacques Cartier will take luxury adventure seekers on a memorable journey to the Kimberley’s dramatic gorges, gushing waterfalls, ancient rock art, abundant wildlife and fiery red coastal cliffs, with a chance to also see the migration of whales along the coast.

Cruise Traveller’s unique package includes a 10-night expedition voyage from Broome to Darwin featuring spectacular sights such as King George Falls, Mitchell Falls, Montgomery Reef, crocodile habitats and the famous phenomenon of Horizontal Falls where the ocean surges at high tide through a narrow break in the cliffs.

The package includes two nights’ accommodation in Broome before the cruise and a complimentary flight to Broome and back from Darwin ex Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide or Perth.

The immersive voyage includes guided, complimentary excursions on Zodiacs and ashore. The cruise also includes the indulgence of a daily open bar onboard Le Jacques Cartier.

Three sailings are available in July and September, 2024.
