YUE of City Garden Hotel Hong Kong awarded Michelin Star

Michelin Star shines on YUE of City Garden Hotel Hong Kong for the second consecutive year in recognition of its high level of consistency in quality.

HONG KONG – Being highly recognised for its gastronomic menu of traditional Cantonese cuisine and dim sum, the acclaimed YUE at City Garden Hotel Hong Kong, a member of Sino Group of Hotels, has achieved the prestigious accolade of one star in Michelin Guide Hong Kong & Macau 2013, the world-renowned culinary and travel guidebook, for the second consecutive year. The hotel is also recommended as a comfortable hotel in the city.

Michelin star serves as an international symbol of culinary excellence, it is with great honour that YUE keeps the gourmet title and it is stimulating to have the recommendation from the Michelin panel of judges on its great selection of starred chefs’ creations. They include Seared Star Garoupa Fillet with Fish Maw on Egg Whites with Truffle Sauce; Double-boiled Almond Soup with Fish Maw and Pork Tendons; Fried Rice with Prawns and Barbecued Pork in X.O. Sauce. Other signature dishes are Fried Crispy Prawns with Pomelo Sauce; Deep-fried Crab Meat Fritter with Sautéed Prawns and Crab Roe; Baked Crab Shell Stuffed with Fresh Crab Meat and Onion; Steamed Giant Garoupa Head and Belly with Cordyceps Fungus and Red Dates; Braised Abalone, Chicken and Chestnuts in Casserole; Steamed Rice with Shrimps, Conpoy and Mushrooms Wrapped with Lotus Leaf. The delicacy and creativity of each of YUE’s dishes reveal the team’s passion in presenting the best of authentic, traditional Cantonese cuisine with award-winning culinary flair.

YUE’s Chinese Executive Chef, Lai Ching-shing, has worked with unrelenting pursuit of perfection over his 30 years’ experience in Mainland China, Singapore and Taiwan.

The exposure in South East Asia makes Chef Lai a seasoned leader in bringing his culinary team to achieve various accolades, and creating more exquisite and compelling dining experiences.

The Michelin star builds on the success of YUE which won the Gold with Distinction Award under Seafood – Fish, Prawn, Crab Category at Hong Kong Tourism Board’s “2010 Best of the Best Culinary Awards” with its spectacular dish Seared Star Garoupa Fillet with Fish Maw on Egg Whites with Truffle Sauce . Its Steamed Egg White and Chicken with Shrimp Paste in Hua Diao Sauce with Crispy Chicken Stick won the Gold Award at “2012 Best of the Best Culinary Awards – Reinvented Classics Category”.

While the novel and delicious dim sum platter, Gold Coast Starlight by Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel’s YUE has struck gold at the “2011 Best of the Best Culinary Awards – Dim Sum Category”.
