YTL Hotels responds to Singapore travelers’ desire to disconnect from work during holidays

Singaporean travelers are one of the region’s most frequent travelers, with 95% of Singaporeans taking vacations up to 4 times over two years.

Recognising that everyone has a different way of disconnecting and decompressing, YTL Hotels is launching a series of three unique and distinct exclusive experiences designed for Singaporean guests to refresh and revitalize in response to their need to disconnect from their work during holidays.

According to Visa’s Global Travel Intentions Study 2015, Singaporean travelers are one of the region’s most frequent travelers, with 95% of Singaporeans taking vacations up to 4 times over two years.

Randstad’s Q2 2015 Workmonitor Research further reveals that one in three (32 per cent) find it hard to let go of work even while on a holiday, (as many as 51 per cent of those surveyed said their boss expects them to be contactable), which puts Singapore among the top on the list of Asia Pacific countries where employees continue with the stresses of work even during their holidays.

Geraldine Dreiser, Vice-President of Marketing & Communications YTL Hotels said “The ideal holiday may vary from person to person. These recent surveys show that though Singaporeans travel up to over four times a year, they still feel vacation-deprived (Expedia Vacation Deprivation Report 2015). A clear indication that busy holiday schedules don’t necessarily allow for the much-needed rest and respite. At YTL Hotels, we believe new luxury is the freedom to explore, a time for self- expression, to disconnect, or in some cases, reconnect. Be it fulfilling simple luxuries or opulent ones, our mission, through the treasured places which each of our resorts represent, is to build memories and create treasured moments for a lifetime. Singapore is our first Asian City to launch these specially-selected packages. We believe that the key to success in our professional and personal lives is to disconnect from our frenetic pace of life and technology, rediscover who we are and reflect on priorities, and then refresh and re-energise ourselves.”
