WYSE Travel Confederation strengthens regional collaboration with PATA

The 22nd edition of the World Youth and Student Travel Conference (WYSTC – 17-20 September, Sydney, Australia) will offer PATA members from across the Asia Pacific region the ideal forum to develop their business, learn about the dynamics of the youth market and join high-level policy discussions on youth travel.

AMSTERDAM – The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), the leading voice and authority on travel and tourism in the Asia Pacific region and the World Youth Student and Educational (WYSE) Travel Confederation are pleased to announce the strengthening of their collaboration in the fields of advocacy, research and business development.

“This is a natural partnership and we are delighted to be re-affirming our relationship with PATA” David Chapman, Director General of WYSE Travel Confederation said. “This is a time of unprecedented growth for tourism in the Asia Pacific region, and young travellers make up a significant proportion of new tourism departures. This is an excellent opportunity for both organisations to work together on policy, research and of course growing their members’ businesses”.

Explaining PATA’s interest in the youth, student and educational travel, Martin Craigs, PATA’s CEO said ”PATA has taken on a Next Gen approach that is manifested in all aspects of its value proposition – advocacy, research, and innovative events. In 2013, PATA is strengthening its commitment to the Next Gen philosophy by shifting its focus to Human Capital Development and tapping into the enhancement of the talent pool of Next Generation travel and tourism professionals. The World Youth & Student Travel Conference is perfectly aligned with this mission, and we at PATA are proud to support this influential and insightful event”.
