Vietjet unveils new training centre in Ho Chi Minh City

The Vietjet training centre was first established in 2012 and has since hosted 85 teachers and 5,000 students across 400 courses.

SINGAPORE – Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (“Vietjet”) has officially opened its newly refurbished training centre in Ho Chi Minh City.

The launch ceremony which was attended by Mr. Nguyen Van, Deputy Minister of Transportation and Mr. Lai Xuan Thanh, Head of Civil Aviation and Authority, Vietnam, also saw the airline take the opportunity to reflect on their successes in 2014 and share their business development plans for 2015.

The Vietjet training centre was first established in 2012 and has since hosted 85 teachers and 5,000 students across 400 courses. The new spacious, state-of-the-art facility will meet the growing demands for aviation and service training in Vietnam, which has been fuelled by Vietjet’s impressive business growth.

Last year, Vietjet surpassed its growth targets by gaining USD379 million in revenue and contributing USD65.5 million in tax to the State. Vietjet also achieved its expansion goals by expanding its fleet, which now boasts 20 Airbus aircraft.

In 2014, Vietjet flew 5.6 million passengers with a load factor of 88%. With a total of 28 domestic and international routes, the airline currently flies to every major destination in Vietnam as well as to Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, South Korea and Taiwan. Since operations began three years ago, Vietjet has doubled its commercial fleet, resulting in the transportation of approximately over eight millions passengers thus far.

Since entering the aviation market, Vietjet has been able to offer more flying opportunities to millions of customers. 30% of our customers travelled on Vietjet for the first,” said Mr. Luu Duc Khanh, Managing Director of Vietjet. “We have transformed the air travel industry in Vietnam by making flights affordable and convenient, and we will continue to follow this path as we expand across the region,” Mr Khanh added.

Moving forward through 2015, Vietjet will continue to add more domestic and international routes and look to create more joint ventures to maintain its position as the leading new age airline in Vietnam and one of the fastest growing airlines across the region.
