Viceroy Maldives honoured in the luxury travel advisor 2012 awards of excellence

Viceroy Hotel Group's amenities and services created for the diverse business and leisure guests include dynamic dining venues featuring world-class culinary talents and destination spas specializing in health, fitness and beauty.

MALDIVES – Viceroy Maldives has been voted as the Best New Hotel in Africa, Indian Ocean or Middle East in the Luxury Travel Advisor 2012 Awards of Excellence. Having been shortlisted for the awards by Luxury Travel Advisors’ panel of influential travel advisors, Viceroy Maldives was crowned the winner in this category by the title’s discerning readers.

The annual Luxury Travel Advisor Awards recognise the hotels, cruise lines, restaurants and individuals that make luxury travel experiences so unforgettable.

Having opened in 2012, Viceroy Maldives is a secluded luxury resort located less than an hour’s flight from the capital island of Male. Encircling a blue lagoon, the resort has five restaurants including beachside dining and a private chef’s table with a wine cellar. All villas are equipped with private plunge pools and ample living space. Beach villas have lovely gardens with outdoor showers and plunge pools.

Mark Sterner, General Manager at Viceroy Maldives, commented: “We are delighted to have been voted as the best new resort in our region.  The remote and secluded location is the perfect setting for the unique architectural design of our villas which offer the feeling of spaciousness and the comforts of modern day living surrounded by the beautiful Indian Ocean. Accompanied by the superb restaurant offerings and impeccable facilities, Viceroy Maldives is a truly special resort and we’re so glad that this is being recognised by those experts in the luxury market.”
