Twelve passengers were found safe and 90 others were believed to have been killed when ill-fated Adam Air’s Boeing 737-400 plane was located at Rangoan village, Polewali Mandar District, West Sulawesi, on Tuesday morning.

The number of survivors was 12 persons, while the remaining 90 people were estimated to have been killed, Adam Air Public Relations official Gugi told to the Indonesian News Agency on Tuesday.

The Adam Air Boeing 737-400 plane, which had 96 passengers and nine crew members on board went missing on Monday, and was found in wreckage a day later.

The plane crashed in a mountainous area in Polewali, West Sulawesi. The Adam Air plane was on its way from Surabaya (East Java) to Manado (North Sulawesi) when it went missing on Monday afternoon.
