The growing success of Travelocity’s Net Rate Hotel programme throughout Asia Pacific has led the company to boost its regional team.

Sue Graham, Travelocity’s Regional Manager for Asia Pacific, said the new appointments would boost the front-line marketing assistance available for hotels in the successful programme.

This year, hotels benefited from the programme being marketed through APAC via online travel agent leader, ZUJI, and more recently from Travelocity’s takeover of UK leader, lastminute.com, according to Ms Graham.

‘I’m delighted to announce two new Market Managers who each brings a depth of regional, travel and technology experience,’ Ms Graham said.

Ms Soke Heng Chan has been appointed Market Manager covering Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Micronesia. Ms Chan’s broad travel knowledge built up over 14 years includes a background in technology plus sales and marketing.

This will allow Ms Jennifer Chua, the current South East Asian Market Manager, to concentrate on Thailand, Indochina and Myanmar. Jennifer, who only recently took up her post, has more than a decade of regional travel industry experience. Her hotel marketing and technology knowledge is already paying off for her clients.

Ms Alex Nieuwenhuys is the new Market Manager for Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. Alex has worked with Travelocity for 18 months. She has just returned from the US where she taught Travelocity’s front line phone sales agents more about Asia Pacific.
