TORO honoured with EGCOA Industry Award

The Toro Company has been recognised by the EGCOA with an Industry Award presented at the annual European Golf Business Conference 2009. The prestigious EGCOA Industry Award is given to a company in the golf industry that demonstrates outstanding commitment to support golf course owners in the development of the game and the golf industry. This years’ EGCOA Industry Award went to an organization that has greatly facilitated the widespread use of complex turf management solutions, assisted in the preservation of the environment and resources, has strong corporate social responsibility and an excellent vision for the future.

Lodewijk Klootwijk, Director of the EGCOA said: “This year in particular, with the economic pressures everyone is facing, the value of the support that Toro is providing to golf bodies and events cannot be overstated. Toro is not just an EGCOA long term partner but one of the game’s true global ambassadors and thoroughly deserves this award.”

Andrew Brown, European Corporate Accounts Manager for The Toro Company commented: “It’s a huge personal honour to receive the award but it’s an even bigger achievement for Toro as a whole to have been honoured with the EGCOA Industry Award. Our passion is helping golf course owners and turf professionals to create and maintain beautiful outdoor spaces. We are focused on continually finding better ways to care for landscapes in an environmentally-friendly manner and we are proud of partnering with the EGCOA to achieve those goals”.

The Toro Company is main sponsor of the European Golf Business Conference. The Toro Company is also a preferred supplier of the EGCOA, presenting sponsor of the 2010 NGCOA Conference that takes places in San Diego in February, and supports many other golf events such as The Open and The Ryder Cup in 2010.
