ThePhilippines.com reaches milestone of one million page views and 150K Facebook fans

After just one year of launching the popular online travel guide has become the online destination of choice for both foreign and domestic tourists planning a vacation in the country.

MANILA, Philippines – As tourism continues to grow in the Philippines, so does the online traffic of one web site that was developed as the official online travel guide to the country. Launched just last year, ThePhilippines.com has already reached a milestone of 157,000+ Facebook fans and is also receiving more than 150,000 unique monthly visitors who are logging on directly to the site.

The site features hundreds of exclusive photos, informative videos, the latest “promo fares,” and showcases virtually everything a tourist needs to know before visiting the Philippines. In addition, the site features exclusive blog content that helps educate tourists about the best tourist attractions, the best restaurants, and the best places to stay.

In the future, the site will introduce a tool that better helps tourists to find the top most affordable hotels and resorts in the country. The site will also feature more information about little-known tourist spots that are not as popular as Boracay and El Nido, but are still very beautiful and worth visiting.

Dante Lee, co-founder of the web site, comments, “When we decided to create ThePhilippines.com, our goal was to build an online destination that could make a huge impact for tourists planning a trip to or within the Philippines. We are happy to know that in just a year’s time, the web site has exploded and is being used by thousands everyday.”

His company, Dante Lee International, produces a global portfolio of more than 15 premium web properties, and they are planning to launch two more sites this year — an online travel guide specifically for El Nido and another for Boracay.

Lee adds, “The Philippines should be more visible online. I want people to come to our web sites, be completely amazed, and immediately start planning a trip.”
